🎁The Molly's Pantry Gifting Appeal is Back for 2025!

Christmas is approaching fast. Many local families in our community face real hardship this year. They worry about providing gifts for their children. Molly's Pantry is stepping up to help. We are launching our annual Local Gifting Appeal. This effort brings pure joy to children right here in our community. It is a simple, powerful way to make a real difference.

The Why and Who.

I was a child who didn’t have much growing up. Poverty is one of the biggest causes of trauma. What ever is going on for adults, it is never the children’s fault. When everyone around you seems to have everything that you don’t, it is painful. We, as adults can sit on a tower of moral judgement about capitalism, but should a child have to even begin to try to understand that?.

We believe that every family deserves a brilliant Christmas, regardless of circumstance. We also support the whole family. There are many grandparent carers or single parents in our community who receive no gifts at all. It is quite important for children to understand the giving side of gifting, so we like to make sure that the children also have something to give to their care givers too.

The Most Wonderful Day Of The Year

Every year I send Santa and some helpers to the children’s centre to gate crash their final breakfast event of the year. We go, cause chaos, with pockets of chocolate coins and fake snowballs. Everyone has a lovely play, then we had out gifts to families. It is completely magical. This gives children that may not be able to access the typical Santa experience an opportunity to have the same experience as their peers. It makes memories. It provides vital support and is the very definition of Christmas spirit. It is a very special morning. I look forward to it all year.
